The City of Blue Ash Economic Development Director has announced his retirement.
Neil Hensley joined the City in 2012 and in the ensuing decade has created lasting business partnerships and helped recruit dozens of new companies to Blue Ash, resulting in thousands of new jobs for the City.
“It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve as the Economic Development Director for Blue Ash. I was fortunate that my start date coincided so closely with the groundbreaking ceremony for Summit Park. It has been incredibly rewarding to be a part of the growth and excitement the park and surrounding developments have created. At the time, I don’t think I could have imagined the economic development impact the project would have on the City. I am grateful to the City’s leadership for trusting me to lead its economic development efforts over these past 10 years.”
Prior to joining the City, Neil (top right) worked with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber for nearly 30 years, where he led the organization’s foreign investment attraction program.
Hensley is a founding board member of the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati, the European American Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Cincinnati Foreign Trade Zone, Inc.
Hensley will officially retire on April 1. He is a certified Master Gardener and Horticultural Therapist. He plans to use those skills to continue making our region a better place.
The City of Blue Ash has selected Dan Johnson (bottom right) to serve as Community and Economic Development Director, upon Hensley's retirement.
Johnson is currently the Community Development Director for the City. He has worked in community development for 20 years and has been the Blue Ash Community Development Director since 2012. He has a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Tennessee.
