Bramkamp Printing named 2010 Maxwell Award winner

Bramkamp Printing Co., Inc. has been named the 2010 Maxwell Award winner by Printing Industries of Ohio/Northern BramkampKentucky as company of the year. The Maxwell Award is given annually to a graphic arts organization that has distinguished itself in the manner of Cincinnati's first printer, William Maxwell. The organization should be forward thinking, a market leader, and recognizable for its contributions to the industry. Bramkamp, established in 1921, moved to Blue Ash in 2007 after spending their first 86 years in Cincinnati. Bramkamp's owners, Larry Kuhlman and Kevin Murray are very proud to be part of the Blue Ash business community and look forward to many, fruitful, years here! CEI Foundation receives grant

The CEI Foundation received a grant of $30,000 from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation to fund the Dr. Richard S. Kerstine Vision Outreach Program, which provides free eye screenings and lectures to the Greater Cincinnati community. The GCF grant will be used to support a fulltime outreach coordinator for the Vision Outreach Program, a program launched in January 2009. It is named in honor of Dr. Kerstine, one of Cincinnati Eye Institute's founding doctors and an active volunteer. The Outreach Program provides free eye and vision screenings and educational lectures on eye health to the Greater Cincinnati community. More than 2,900 adults have received services.

Akebia raises 24.2 million in private and public funding

Akebia Therapeutics Inc. has raised 24.2 million in private and public funding, including funds from Ohio's Third Frontier program, the state's $1.4 billion initiative to spark high-tech industries and create new jobs. Akebia is developing small molecules for the treatment of anemia and vascular disease. Read more.

HealthBridge awarded federal contract

The Social Security Administration awarded a Blue Ash company, HealthBridge , $1.4 million on Monday to provide electronic medical records to the agency. HealthBridge was one of 15 health care providers that the Social Security Administration has contracted with to provide it with electronic medical records to improve the accuracy and speed of disability award decisions. Patton named EVP at CTI Clinical Trial

Robert Patton has joined CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services in Blue Ash as vice president, business development. Patton has an extensive background within clinical research organizations and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Most recently, he served as president and chief executive officer of Creative Strategies. He holds a bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University and a master's degree from the University of Colorado.
